Lee Ahlstrom, IRC

President, Viasat Energy Services

Lee Ahlstrom serves as President, Viasat Energy Services where he heads managed communications services and systems integration solutions for the energy sector. Prior to the acquisition by Viasat Inc., Ahlstrom was RigNet’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, responsible for financial planning and analysis, accounting, financial reporting, tax, treasury, and investor relations. In addition, he directed RigNet’s global human resources function, serving employees in more than a dozen countries. Prior to RigNet, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Paragon Offshore Ltd., a global offshore drilling contractor, and as Senior Vice President of Investor Relations, Strategy, and Planning.

His career spans more than 20 years of finance, capital markets, strategy, and operations experience, including executive and leadership roles at Noble Corporation, Burlington Resources, Unocal and McKinsey and Company. Ahlstrom began his career at ExxonMobil where he held a variety of engineering positions.

Ahlstrom holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delaware. Ahlstrom served on the board of directors for the National Investor Relations Institute from 2014-2019, including as chairman in 2018. He holds NIRI’s Investor Relations Charter (IRC™) credential and was named a NIRI Fellow in 2020.
